Birdies for Charity (BFC) is an exciting opportunity for charities to raise money through the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am tournament. Hosted by Monterey Peninsula Foundation (MPF), BFC is a fundraising program that has helped Northern California charities raise over $1,200,000 in the program’s five year history.
How it Works - Pledge Drive and Matching Funds Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations are invited to involve their communities in a pledge drive, similar to a walk-a-thon, based on the total number of birdies made by PGA TOUR professionals during the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Charities solicit donors to pledge an amount per birdie or a flat donation. MPF administers the program and covers all associated costs including pledge forms, prizes, and collecting donations. 100% of collected pledges go directly to the soliciting charity with an additional up to 20% match.
Charity Shoot-Out - Participating qualifying charities are invited to compete in a closest-to-the pin competition to earn the opportunity to be represented by one of the teams – the San Francisco 49ers or San Francisco Giants in the exciting Charity Shoot-Out on February 5, 2013, and earn up to $50,000 additional money.
Birdies for Charity Raffle - Each pledge form offers donors the chance to be entered in a raffle to win the grand prize. Grand prizes vary each year and are provided by Monterey Peninsula Foundation and various program sponsors.
