3M Celebrity Challenge

One of the most legendary pre-tournament events features celebrities representing Team Eastwood or Team Murray while playing the famous ‘Whiskey Run’ – holes 1, 2, 3, 17 & 18 at Pebble Beach Golf Links. A $100,000 charity purse is on the line with winnings donated to the player’s charity of choice. Fans will be able to follow along watching the entire competition followed by the wacky awards ceremony on the 18th green.
The following is the breakdown of the $100,000 3M Celebrity Challenge at Pebble Beach Golf Links. Celebrity teams played alternate-shot format for five holes, with money going to each player’s designated charity (split $20,000 per hole).
The competition showcased the 6th Annual Eastwood-Murray Cup, captured by Team Murray.
Honored at the event were 3M Scholarship winners Madison Vernon of Carmel High and Rachel Roberts of Salinas High, who each received $3,500 for their college education presented by Denise Rutherford, Senior Vice President Corporate Affairs. In addition to the winner’s scholarships, each school represented by the
winners will receive an $9,000 college scholarship from 3M to be used at the school’s discretion for other college-bound seniors.
Five adorable puppies and one senior dog from the SPCA of Monterey County were on hand at the 18th hole to cheer on Team Eastwood who was competing on behalf of the organization.
