AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Celebrating 75th Anniversary, Launches Contest to Find Fans’ Most Memorable Moments

MONTEREY, Calif., Nov. 19, 2020 – The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2021 and host organization, Monterey Peninsula Foundation  today launched an online contest asking fans to submit their fondest memory from the golf tournament. The contest opens today and closes at 11:59 p.m. PST on Dec. 31.

Called “75 Years of Making Memories,” the contest is giving fans an opportunity to submit their favorite story or experience in 250 words or less. Entrants should visit http://www.attpbgolf.com/memories/ to share their story as well as include a photo of themselves. The first 75 individuals to enter will receive an AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 75-year commemorative pin.

The most colorful stories will be selected and read and recorded by celebrities and professionals scheduled to play in the 2021 tournament. The winning stories also will be posted on the tournament’s social media channels (#75YearsofGolfandGiving) beginning Jan. 21 and throughout tournament week, Feb. 8-14, 2021.

“The memorable moments from this tournament began the minute Bing Crosby moved it to the Monterey Peninsula in the 1940s,” said Steve John, CEO of the Monterey Peninsula Foundation. “How about the 1962 tournament and the fresh blanket of snow that fell prior to Sunday’s scheduled fourth round? Or who will forget when D.A. Points and his partner, Bill Murray, won the Pro-Am in 2011?”

“But we trust many of your favorite memories may not have had anything to do with what was taking place on the golf course,” John continued. “Maybe you had a memorable encounter with a celebrity, or snagged an autograph you still treasure today, or even have an epic tale from the Tap Room? Then there are our volunteers who have no shortage of memorable tales – from braving the weather to making connections with the celebrities and gallery.”

The “75 Years of Making Memories” contest winners will be notified by email. All winners also will receive a 75-year commemorative pin.

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is annually hosted by the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, which last year donated $12.3 million to support local nonprofits in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties.
